Lil J Xavier Gets Hometown Help On Debut CD

Comments

Fourteen-year-old Houston rapper Lil J Xavier will on Nov. 7 issue his debut album, "Young Prince of Tha South" via Noo Day Entertainment/Music World Music. The set features appearances by his fellow hometown rappers Mike Jones, Lil Keke and the late Hawk.

Lead single "I Love My Music" impacts radio this month. Xavier joined Beyonce's father Mathew Knowles' Music World Music imprint last year. "When I first saw him I saw a twinkle in his eye that I haven't seen in any other performer besides Beyonce," says Knowles.

The young rapper, who has been recording since age 9, appears on the soundtrack to "Bring It On: All or Nothing" and the "Pink Panther" album sampler, which is available with the movie at Wal-Mart. He has also hosted his own show, "YGTV" (Young Generation TV).

Beginning in August, Xavier will tour with Chris Brown on the singer's nationwide outing with Ne-Yo. The trek will visit Miami, New York and Houston before wrapping up Oct. 8 in Sacramento, Calif.
