Leonard Cohen will return to the United States this fall to perform in theaters and arenas, beginning Oct. 17 at the BankAtlantic Center in Sunrise, Fla., and wrapping Nov. 13 at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, Calif.

Select tickets for the 15-date U.S. trek will go on sale Aug. 3 through ticketmaster.com and other Web sites. Cohen's forthcoming AEG-promoted tour will also visit fans in such major markets at Atlanta, Philadelphia, New York and Chicago, among others.

Earlier this year, Cohen played his first show on American soil in 15 years at the Beacon Theatre in New York. As previously reported, the three-hour performance featured all of Cohen's classics, including "Suzanne," "Bird on the Wire" and "Hallelujah." Following that concert, the artist toured North American cities through early June.

Those performances helped Cohen rank among the top 25 highest-grossing touring artists on Billboard's 2009 midyear touring charts. The singer-songwriter placed at No. 21, grossing $17.1 million from 34 concerts that drew nearly 184,000 concertgoers, according to Billboard Boxscore.

Cohen is currently on tour in Europe to support "Live in London," his first new album in five years. The set, which was culled from his July 2008 performance at London's 02, has sold 49,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan. The European leg of his world tour is scheduled to end in late September.
