Legacy Live Sets Heading Online First

Comments

Forthcoming live albums from Toad The Wet Sprocket, Soul Asylum and Living Colour will initially be available online exclusively from Sony/Legacy's yet-to-launch LiveFromTheVaults.com. The three titles go on sale online Oct. 19 and will hit traditional retail outlets on Jan. 11. Track listings and suggested retail price ($11.99) will be identical for the online and retail editions.

Toad's "Welcome Home: Live at the Arlington Theater," was recorded in the band's Santa Barbara, Calif., hometown on Sept. 30, 1992. The foursome was enjoying breakthrough success with its third Columbia album, "Fear," which spawned the singles "All I Want" and "Walk on the Ocean." Beyond those cuts, the show featured a performance of the then-unreleased "Brother," which appeared the following year on the "So I Married an Axe Murderer" soundtrack.

Soul Asylum's "After the Flood: Live From the Grand Forks Prom" was taped June 28, 1997, at the Grand Forks Airbase in North Dakota. The veteran rock act accepted an offer from two area high schools to perform, after the town was decimated by heavy flooding. Band members played the gig in purple tuxedos and rattled off covers "Rhinestone Cowboy," "I Can See Clearly Now" and "Sexual Healing," among others.

Recorded Dec. 11, 1989, Living Colour's "Live at CBGB's" finds the rock outfit powering through such favorites as "Cult of Personality" and "Open Letter to a Landlord" and a cover of Bad Brains' "Sailin' On."
