According to Aftershock founder Mickey Shapiro, there are ongoing discussions to televise the concert via a TV deal to be announced. Shapiro, who says he will personally not receive any money from the fundraising efforts, adds: "Our goal is to raise $5 million, and we're not giving any of the money to the governments of El Salvador and India. We'll be working with an organization called Operation USA that was involved with distributing funds for 'We Are the World.'"
He notes that the benefit concert's mid-range ticket prices will be $60-$70, and that more acts will be announced within the coming weeks. For more information about the Aftershock and the July 29 concert, call 310-275-0398 or send E-mail to aftershock_benefit@hotmail.com.
