Lady Gaga's Born This Way Foundation will come to life on Feb. 29.

The nonprofit, announced by the pop star in November, will kick off its mission with an event at Harvard University's Sanders Theatre.

Harvard's Berkman Center for Internet & Society has partnered with Gaga for the new nonprofit, as has the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation and the California Endowment.

As previously reported, the new foundation will focus on "issues like self-confidence, well-being, anti-bullying, mentoring and career development," Gaga initially announced.

Her mother, Cynthia Germanotta, will co-direct the foundation.

On Thursday, Gaga earned further kudos for her efforts to empower young people in LGBT community with a nomination for Outstanding Music Artist at the GLAAD Media Awards. She previously earned the Hero Award in December, an honor given by the Trevor Project.
