For those who aren't interested in watching NFL games on Thanksgiving, Lady Gaga is offering an alternative in the form of her first holiday special.
Lady Gaga has taken over for Mr. Clause and is decking the halls over at Barneys in NYC. Mother Monster will bring her bizarre and glitter-drenched style over to the high-end retailer for a complete holiday makeover.
Gibson says, "I decided to step away" and acknowledges that her longtime friend and collaborator was "motivated to take the helm of the creative direction of her career."
Lady Gaga's "Marry the Night" video has yet to arrive, but Mother Monster graced her fans with its prelude's opening two minutes on Thursday.
The new clip features a dark-haired Gaga lying motionless in a hospital gurney, being pulled through what appears to be a hospital as her inner monologue offers a voice-over.
"When I look back on my life, it's not that I don't want to see things exactly as they happened," she says in a calm monotone. "It's just that I prefer to remember them in an artistic way. And truthfully, the lie of it all is much more honest because I invented it."
But the suspenseful speech wouldn't be Gaga without a fashion nod: "For example, those nurses. They're wearing next-season Calvin Klein. And so am I," she says, pointing out their mint-green caps.
The clip closes with a bit of dark humor, as Gaga ogles a nurse and wishes off-hand that she'd been given gummy bears like a fellow patient.
The two-minute clip, dubbed "The Prelude Pathétique," is just part of the full prelude, which Gaga tweeted will be seven-and-a-half minutes -- with the "Marry the Night" video to follow. The video will mark Gaga's first effort as a director, in addition to her upcoming holiday special, "A Very Gaga Thanksgiving."
