Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber Win at MuchMusic Video Awards

A green-haired Lady Gaga did not go home green with envy at last night's (June 19) 2011 MuchMusic Video Awards in Toronto, Canada.

 

The Mother Monster won International Video of the Year for "Judas" and UR Fave International Video for "Born This Way." She also kicked off and closed the outdoor music awards show that brings 10,000 fans to the headquarters of the MuchMusic building on Toronto's Queen Street.

Justin Bieber also went home with two awards, for International Video Of The Year By A Canadian for "Somebody To Love" featuring Usher (a tie with Drake for his video "Find Your Love") and another fan-choice, UR FAVE New Artist for the remix version of "Somebody to Love." Upon winning, Bieber said to girlfriend Selena Gomez, who co-hosted the show with various Much VJs, "Nice to meet you. You're very beautiful. Maybe we can go out sometime."

As the show aired live on MuchMusic in Canada and Fuse in the U.S., four of the Top 10 trending topics on Twitter worldwide were directly related to the MMVAs.

 

Far East Movement, which won International Video Of The Year (Group) for "Like a G6" featuring The Cataracs & Dev, performed with both Dev and Snoop Dogg on a medly of "Like a G6/Bass Down Low/If I Was You (OMG)."

Fefe Dobson also rocked the stage with Simple Plan on "Jet Lag," singing the part of Natasha Bedingfield. She also won UR Fave Video Award for "Stuttering."

 

According to MuchMusic, fans cast an unprecedented 900,000 votes in UR FAVE categories -- an increase of 90 percent over last year.
