L.A. Concerts To Benefit Sweet Relief

American Music Club, former Alice In Chains guitarist Jerry Cantrell and the Cult guitarist Billy Duffy will take part in an upcoming Los Angeles concert series to benefit the Sweet Relief Musicians Fund. Produced by Music for Charity Productions, the shows will take place on Mondays -- April 5, 12, and 19 -- at the Troubadour nightclub in honor of the 10th anniversary of Sweet Relief.

The April 5 show will feature the first public appearance by reunited modern rock act American Music Club, an acoustic set by Concrete Blonde, and singer/songwriters Paula Cole, Jesse Harris and Glen Phillips (Toad The Wet Sprocket).

On April 12, the Jerry Cantrell-Billy Duffy Band will perform, featuring the two guitarists, members of hard rock act Puddle Of Mudd and other friends playing covers and songs from their respective careers. Whitestarr and other acts yet to be announced will also be on the bill.

Finally, the April 19 show will include singer/songwriters Michelle Shocked, Grant Lee Phillips and Michael Penn, as well as other artists not yet confirmed.

Founded by singer/songwriter Victoria Williams in 1994, the non-profit Sweet Relief Musicians Fund provides financial assistance to musicians for medical expenses, alternative therapies and basic needs. More information can be found on the organization's Web site, sweetrelief.org.
