The long-awaited sophomore album by tha Dogg Pound, "Tha Dogg Pound: 2002," is set for a July 31 release on Death Row Records, some six years after the duo's 1995 debut, the multi-platinum "Dogg Food." On the new set, Pound members Dat Nigga Daz and Kurupt are joined by an array of hip-hop talent, including Jay-Z, Snoop Dogg, Xzibit, Nate Dogg, Crooked I, and Soopafly.

The first two singles will be "Gangsta Rap," featuring Crooked I, and the Dr. Dre-produced "Just Doggin'," with Nate Dogg. The album also includes an unreleased track by the late Tupac Shakur.

In other Kurupt news, the artist's third solo album, "Space Boogie: Smoke Oddessey," is due July 17 on Antra/Artemis. Executive-produced by Farid "Fredwreck" Nasir and Joe Marrone, the album features Xzibit, Nate Dogg, tha Liks, Daz, N.W.A's MC Ren, Jon B, Everlast, and Limp Bizkit's Fred Durst, with production by Fredwreck, Daz Dillinger, Soopafly, DJ Quik, Jon B, and Limp Bizkit's DJ Lethal.

"Space Boogie" is the follow-up to the 1999 set "The Streetz is a Mutha," which debuted at No. 5 on Billboard's Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart and at No. 31 on The Billboard 200. Kurupt is slated to make his acting debut next spring in "Plague Seasons." The film, starring Kurt Russell, Ving Rhames, and Michael Michelle, centers around the 1992 Los Angeles riots.
