Kris Kross Finishing New Album

Comments

Chris Smith and Chris Kelly, who as the duo Kris Kross hit pop paydirt at age 13 with the 1992 No. 1 single "Jump," are putting the finishing touches on their fourth studio album. The as-yet-untitled set is due this summer on producer Joe Nicolo's new imprint, Judgment Records.

Jermaine Dupri, who produced Kris Kross' first three albums, is again on board for the new disc. Dupri recorded the basic tracks in the group's Atlanta hometown, and will be completing production on the album this month at Judgment Records studios in Philadelphia.

The boys - best known for their backwards pants and braided hair - have been on hiatus for four years. Their most recent disc, the 1996 set "Young, Rich & Dangerous," peaked at No. 15 on The Billboard 200, and spawned the No. 12 single "Tonite's The Nite."
