Back to Idol HQ

Last night, Ke$ha attempted to show the Top 12 AI finalists what it takes to be a real American Idol. Though, after reviewing her performance, we're not quite sure she sent the right message.

In the midst of the Rolling Stones-themed recap show (in which Lacey Brown got the boot), Ke$ha emerged to perform her electro-pop hit "Blah Blah Blah." The L.A. woman wore her trademark glitter eye make-up and bounced (and stumbled) around the stage while her backup dancers -- dressed as human TV sets -- showed intermittent images of the American flag, owls, skulls, and other random objects.

And just when you thought the spectacle couldn't get more ADD-friendly, rap-rockers 3OH!3 came out to drop their verse -- after which, Ke$ha re-emerged wearing a Native American headdress. The crowd responded favorably, but it was certainly an odd, surprisingly "blah" (and possibly lip-synched?) performance for a show that is supposed to be about, well ... singing. Lucky for Ke$ha, Simon Cowell didn't have a chance to give his critique.
