Kanye, Rod Stewart Join Princess Di Concert Bill

Comments

Kanye West, Rod Stewart, Lily Allen and Status Quo are among the eight artists added to the lineup for a summer concert at London's new Wembley Stadium to commemorate the 10th anniversary of Princess Diana's death.

Natasha Bedingfield, the Feeling, James Morrison and Orson are the other acts confirmed today (April 26) for the Concert for Diana, to be held July 1.

They join such previously announced performers as Elton John, Duran Duran, Bryan Ferry, Joss Stone and Pharrell Williams. In recognition of the late Princess' interest in the arts, the event will feature the English National Ballet, while composer and impresario Andrew Lloyd Webber will oversee a medley of songs from some of his leading theatrical shows.

The concert is to be staged on what would have been the Princess' 46th birthday. A spokesperson, meanwhile, has downplayed speculation of a rift between the Diana concert's team, and organizers of the Live Earth concert on July 7, noting, "it's all peace and love between the two events, so much so that they are sharing many of the facilities/staging."

An additional 10,000 tickets for the Concert for Diana will go on sale tomorrow morning via Ticketmaster and via the event's official Web site.
