Johnson's last album, 2003's "Chapter 2: The Voice," reached No. 1 on Billboard's Heatseekers chart and has sold 269,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
She returned to the charts last year guesting on West's "All Falls Down," which peaked at No. 4 on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks chart and No. 7 on the Hot 100.
