K'NAAN

On Wednesday (Feb. 1), Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney was blasted by Somali-Canadian artist K'naan, the latest musician to speak out against a politician's unauthorized song use.

"I have not been asked for permission by Mitt Romney's campaign for the use of my song. If I had been asked, I would certainly not have granted it," the singer said in a statement.

K'naan's "Waving Flag" was played after the former Massachusetts governor's Tuesday night speech, following his victory at the Florida Republican primary.

However, there's another candidate K'naan would love to share the track with.

"I would happily grant the Obama campaign use of my song without prejudice," he said.

According to a K'naan rep, the musician is "currently seeking legal action" against Romney's campaign to stop further plays.
