k.d. lang Eyeing February For Next Album

Comments

Fans who have waited since 2000 for new material from k.d. lang will find relief this winter, when the singer/songwriter releases the album "Watershed." Due Feb. 5 via Nonesuch, the 11-song set was produced by lang, a first, and recorded in California earlier this year.

"Watershed" is lang's first album since 2004's "Hymns of the 49th Parallel," a collection of tunes by Canadian songwriters, though 2000's "Invincible Summer" was the last effort to contain originals from the Grammy-winner.

lang has already scheduled a spate of East Coast tour dates plus multiple performances on the Olivia Caribbean cruise, set to depart Jan. 26 from Florida. She is currently planning a full North American and international itinerary.

The Canadian artist has made nine appearances on The Billboard 200, starting with 1989's "Absolute Torch and Twang." "Hymns" reached No. 55, while "Invincible Summer" peaked at No. 58.
