Justin Bieber

Justin Bieber got a scare today (June 23) when an undercover cop was mistaken for a crazed fan during the singer's public appearance in New York.

The 17-year-old pop star arrived at Macy's flagship store in Manhattan's Herald Square at around 3:30 pm EST to debut his new fragrance, "Someday." According to reports, the crowd went wild when Bieber stepped outside to greet  fans who didn't make it inside for the unveiling.  As the crowd surged, an undercover cop stepped forward in an attempt to protect the singer. But the plainclothes policeman was mistaken for a crazed fan and was quickly restrained by one of Bieber's bodyguards.

The security guard was cited for disorderly conduct, but both sides quickly sorted everything out. Several reports said that Bieber was tackled during the incident, but police denied that Bieber was injured. "Bieber wasn't touched. Bieber wasn't hurt," a police source told NY Daily News.

Though visibly startled after the incident, Beiber was ushered back into Macy's and proceeded to sign autographs.
