Jones' Delayed 'Dream' Now Set For November

Comments

Originally expected in April and then pushed to July, Houston rapper Mike Jones' new album, "The American Dream," will now arrive Nov. 20 via Swishahouse/Asylum/Warner Bros. Records.

First single "Mr. Jones" was sent to radio at the beginning of 2007 but peaked at No. 54 on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. Another song, "My 64," topped out at No. 22 on Hot Rap Tracks in June. The latest single to be worked from the project, "Turning Headz," has yet to chart.

The new set shares a name with Jones' feature-film debut, which will be packaged with the album. Set during the late '90s, the film parallels the emergence of Southern rap with Jones' own life.

The new album is the follow-up to 2005's "Who Is Mike Jones?," which has sold more than 1.4 million copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
