The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, the fiery rock trio from New York City that's been on a virtual hiatus since 2004's "Damage," has teamed with Shout! Factory division Majordomo Records for an extensive reissue campaign in 2010.

Spencer, the former frontman of Pussy Galore, teamed with guitarist Judah Bauer and drummer Russell Simins in the 1990's and released a series of albums on Matador that pioneered the stripped down "punk-blues" sound of the era.

The first release of the new series will be "Dirty Shirt Rock N' Roll: The First Ten Years," a compilations of 22 of the band's songs that due out on March 30. Reissues of the newly remastered original albums will follow, with rare and unreleased bonus tracks, new liner notes and photos.  All titles will also be available digitally, many for the first time ever.

"I'm very excited to be releasing the Blues Explosion albums with Shout! Factory," Spencer said in a statement. "For me, it's been a wild ride working on the reissues. There is a lot of power in the grooves of these records. The Blues are still No. 1."

Earlier this year, Spencer told Billboard.com that the band remains "very much in deep hiatus," though it did play a show during the summer in New York City. But Spencer predicted "there might be some more activity" in the wake of the reissues, and he doesn't rule out the possibility of another new album. "We're all up for it," he says. "We've thought about it, talked about it, just haven't done it."
