Joe Jackson Band Ready To Hit The Studio

Comments

Joe Jackson told the audience at the London date (May 24) on his current tour that he and his band will go into a studio in Berlin next month to start recording a new album for 2008 release.

During his set at the Carling Academy, Jackson played several new songs written for the forthcoming album, including "Invisible Man," "Citizen Sane," "Wasted Time" and "Solo." The show also included covers of Steely Dan's "Any Major Dude" and Duke Ellington's "Don't Get Around Much Anymore" plus several of his best-known songs.

To coincide with the tour, a new compilation, "Steppin' Out: The Very Best of Joe Jackson" was released in the U.K. yesterday (May 28) by Universal Music TV.

The European tour continues tomorrow (May 30) at the Liverpool Academy, with dates on the books through June 16 in Barcelona.
