R&B/pop singer and "Hannah Montana" diehard fan Iyaz got the chance to make his acting debut on the Disney Channel show, in an episode set to air Oct. 3 at 8 P.M. ET. The show will feature the premiere of new track "Gonna Get This," a duet between the "Replay" singer and star Miley Cyrus.

"I've been watching the show for a very long time, and finally got the opportunity to do a song with Miley," says the 23-year-old singer. "[The song] definitely has some edge to it. She did her thing and I put my little island twist on it."

Iyaz plays himself in the episode and helps Cyrus' character overcome a case of writer's block. Although the singer arrived at the show's set last spring not knowing what to expect, he says that the "Hannah Montana" crew "treated me like family… it was a lot of fun, and definitely a lifetime experience."

After reaching No. 2 on the Hot 100 with debut single "Replay" last January and releasing an album of the same name earlier this year, Iyaz says that he's "wrapping up" his follow-up disc in Los Angeles. An opening slot on Justin Bieber's tour slowed down work on the album, but Iyaz says it was worth it to join his "little brother" on the road.

"During the days we had nothing to do, we would either be playing video games or playing around with some beats, and just having fun," says Iyaz. "[Bieber] is definitely down-to-earth. Some people start acting all crazy when they blow up, but he's been cool from the jump."
