Indie-music e-tailer Insound.com will launch its video gallery tomorrow by debuting the clip to Stereolab track "The Free Design." The video, which is the first single from the British band's forthcoming Elektra album, "Cobra And Phases Group Play Voltage In The Milky Night," will be among the 150 clips initially available for viewing on the site.
Insound.com is positioning the gallery as an alternative to established music channels MTV and VH1. Indeed, the site will offer clips by such left-field artists as Yo La Tengo, Belle & Sebastian, Cat Power, and Dub Narcotic Sound System, as well as music documentary footage and video interviews. Insound.com also plans to expand into indie film and underground video and animation.
All video offerings will require a RealPlayer G2 plug-in, available for free download. The site's video player will also feature links to artist information and album reviews.
