A cast of prominent indie rockers will again join forces to benefit the homeless when "The Amos House Collection, Vol. II," is released Jan. 15 via Rhode Island-based Wishing Tree Records. Featuring rare material from the likes of Elliott Smith, Spoon, Wheat, Bright Eyes, Ida, and Belle & Sebastian's Isobel Campbell, the double album will -- like it's 2001 predecessor -- assist Amos House, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing direct support for people in need.

"Rhode Island is the only state in the U.S. where no one is appointed to helping the homeless, and the problem falls through the cracks," Wishing Tree co-owner David Silva said in a statement. "96% of Amos House's operating budget comes from contributions that aid in offering resources that help the homeless achieve greater stability and self-reliance in their lives."

For the first compilation, released this spring, the upstart label enlisted names artists such as Idaho, Death Cab for Cutie, the Lilac Time, and the Ladybug Transistor. "All of the artists we approached not only wanted to get involved, but also donated their work to the project," Silva said. "The response has been overwhelming and both collections are the result of extremely talented and generous people coming together.
