Madonna tops Hot Tours with more totals from "Sticky & Sweet," her world tour that kicked off last August. The shows reported during the most recent tabulation week include the singer's only show in Russia, an outdoor performance in St. Petersburg's Palace Square (Aug. 2). Other entertainers who have performed there include Paul McCartney, Roger Waters and Duran Duran.
The eighth American Idols Live Tour featuring this year's winner, Kris Allen, is rolling through its North American schedule with totals from six markets reported this week. The best-attended performance was in Allen's home state of Arkansas at Little Rock's Verizon Arena (July 25) with 14,288 in attendance, the most from any venue on the tour. In the 19 shows reported this summer, ticket sales stand at 180,000 to date. The Idol tour that sold the most tickets was the 2006 venture featuring the series' fifth-season winner, Taylor Hicks. That tour grossed $35.2 million, with a total attendance of 646,996.
Country music impacts the Hot Tours with four headlining acts earning spots in the top 10. Rascal Flatts, Kenny Chesney and Brad Paisley each had three shows reported from their summer tours, and Keith Urban charts with two shows.
