'Threat' Matrix

KelisWestside Connection, the west-coast rap supergroup featuring Ice Cube, Mack 10 and WC, this week releases "Terrorist Threats," its first album in seven years. The Priority album is the follow-up to 1996's "Bow Down," which debuted at No. 2 on The Billboard 200 and has sold 1.7 million copies in the U.S., according to Nielsen SoundScan.

"We're about to re-establish the West Coast as the capitol of hard-core gangster rap," Ice Cube says.

Lead single "Gangsta Nations" was produced by Fred Wreck (Snoop Dogg, Kurupt) and features Nate Dogg on the chorus. A video clip has been lensed by director Dave Meyers. Other tracks set for the album include "So Many Rappers in Love" and "Pimp the System."

Ice Cube is at work on the film "Are We There Yet?," in which he stars as a playboy bachelor forced to travel from Washington to New York with the pre-teen children of his girlfriend. He will also be seen next year in the films "Barbershop 2" and "Torque."
