Produced by Hornsby and Wayne Pooley, the career-spanning set includes 18 Hornsby favorites. Samples of three tracks -- "Stander On The Mountain," "Great Divide," and "Red Plains" -- are available on the artist's official Web site.
As of late, Hornsby has been touring with his ex-Grateful Dead pals, the Other Ones, on the Furthur Festival -- which tonight (Sept. 1) hits the Alpine Valley Music Theatre in East Troy, Wis. -- and has contributed music to several projects.
His original song "Shadowland" will be played over the end credits of the upcoming Spike Lee film, "Bamboozled," due out in October. Hornsby also recorded the song "Darlin' Corey" for the recently released Ricky Scaggs & Friends set "Big Mon" (Scaggs Family Records), a tribute album to bluegrass legend Bill Monroe. He also lent his talents to a rendition of "Backhand" for the Keith Jarrett tribute album, "As Long As You're Living Yours," released in April by RCA.
