David Foster will be the musical director for the show, dubbed "From Brooklyn To Burbank."
In addition to the dinner, City of Hope will also raise funds by offering music fans the chance to buy framed, platinum-certified editions of five classic albums. The discs, which will be priced at $199 each, will come with official documentation from the Recording Industry Association of America, stating the that particular title shipped over 1 million copies, and will be engraved will the purchaser's name.
The albums available for purchase are "Born To Run" by Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band, "Metallica" by Metallica. "Like A Virgin" by Madonna, "Legend" by Bob Marley, and "Backstreet Boys" by Backstreet Boys.
The platinum albums are being offered through a special City of Hope cooperative campaign with MTV, VH1, those channels' Web sites, and the Warner Bros. Records' Web site.
