Hill Gets NBC Prime Time Treatment

Faith Hill will return to NBC to star in a prime-time music special set to air Nov. 23, the night before the U.S. Thanksgiving Day holiday. She has previously appeared in a prime-time special for the network and, prior to that, one for CBS.

The special will promote Hill's new album, "Fireflies," due Aug. 2 via Warner Bros. While she will not tour this year, Hill will stage several concert performances that will be filmed for the special, including one in Nashville later this summer.

"I can't wait to do this music onstage," Hill tells Billboard.com.

The artist's first NBC special, 2002's "When the Lights Go Down," also aired the night before Thanksgiving, and drew a 6.5 rating/12 share, or about 6.9 million U.S. households, according to Nielsen Media Research. Hill's husband, fellow country star Tim McGraw, starred in his own special that aired one night earlier than his wife's; his second NBC special aired in 2004.

As previously reported, Hill will give fans a preview of her new album via a Nashville-based radio special set to air nationwide July 28-29. The event will be taped at Music City's intimate Ford Theater and feature Hill discussing the songs on "Fireflies."
