Heavy Hitters Sign On For Radio Shows

In a fitting display of talent by two of the best-known rock radio stations in the United States, the Beastie Boys, the Strokes, the Darkness and Velvet Revolver are among the acts confirmed for KROQ-Los Angeles' Weenie Roast and WXRK-New York's Dysfunctional Family Picnic.

Set for June 12 at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre in Irvine, Calif., the Weenie Roast will feature the Strokes, Bad Religion, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Velvet Revolver, Yellowcard, the Hives, Cypress Hill, New Found Glory, Modest Mouse, Story Of The Year, the Killers and Hoobastank. Tickets go on-sale Saturday (May 22) via Ticketmaster.

The eighth edition of the DFP will be held June 19 at Jones Beach in Wantagh, N.Y., and will feature performances by the Beastie Boys, the Strokes, the Darkness, Cypress Hill, Brand New, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Story Of The Year, Midtown, New Found Glory and Taking Back Sunday. A pre-sale for 92 Free Card holders begins Friday; the general public on-sale is the following day.
