Veteran cult American artist and music industry maverick Lee Hazlewood has finalized plans for the first-ever solo European tour of his five-decade-long career. Commencing on Sept. 7 in Aarhus, Denmark, the 16-date tour will see the 73-year-old Hazlewood backed by an array of contemporary musicians, including members of the High Llamas. Other musicians and special guests are to be announced soon.

As previously reported, Hazlewood recently released an acclaimed new album, "For Every Solution There's a Problem," and a tribute collection, "Total Lee: The Songs of Lee Hazlewood," in Europe via City Slang. The latter, featuring interpretations of his songs by Lambchop, Evan Dando, and Pulp's Jarvis Cocker, among others, is set for an Aug. 6 release in North America via Astralwerks.

During his half-century long tenure in the industry, which has seen him work as a songwriter, performer, producer and businessman, Hazlewood has collaborated with such legendary figures as Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, and Gram Parsons. But he is perhaps best known for his songwriting work with Nancy Sinatra, which has inspired an unlikely duet between supermodel Kate Moss and veteran U.K. rock outfit Primal Scream.

Originally mooted for inclusion on Primal Scream's forthcoming album "Evil Heat" (due Aug. 5 internationally via Columbia), the interpretation of the Hazelwood/Sinatra classic "Some Velvet Morning" now looks set for Internet only release on the band's official Web site.
