Handsome Boys To Play For 'People'

Handsome Boy Modeling School will later this month embark on its first full-scale tour in support of its sophomore album, "White People." Producers Dan "The Automator" Nakamura and Prince Paul will assume their respective alter-egos of Nathaniel Merriweather and Chest Rockwell for the trek, which begins March 28 in Los Angeles.

Various special guests will join the group throughout the tour, but a spokesperson declined to provide specifics. On "White People," the duo is augmented by everybody from members of Linkin Park and Franz Ferdinand to rapper Del the Funky Homosapien and hip-hop legends such as Grand Wizard Theodore and Jazzy Jay.

"White People" has been a college radio favorite since its fall 2004 release. The set debuted at No. 4 on Billboard's Heatseekers chart and has sold 58,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

"We're excited to be traveling and spreading the handsomeness around," Prince Paul told Billboard.com last fall. "Depending on the availability of some of the artists, we'll have a collection that will tour with us throughout. A Handsome Boy show is enlightening and fulfilling. It should be a whole lot of fun. There will be a lot of makeovers.

Asked how the group will perform material if the vocalist who appeared on the album version is unable to appear, he said, "I can't say just yet. Everything is a possibility. However we do it, it has to be really clever."
