Guitarist Exits American Head Charge

Guitarist Wayne Kile has exited hard rock outfit American Head Charge. "Our split with Wayne is completely amicable and we wish him luck in his future endeavors," the band says in a statement. "Over the past year, it became obvious that Wayne was moving in a different direction than the rest of the band, and in the past few months it became extremely apparent that it was time for him to move on."

Kile will be replaced Brian Ottoson, formerly of the Minneapolis band Black Food Diesel. Ottoson previously served as a road tech for American Head Charge bassist Chad Hanks. He was quickly ushered into the fold for an appearance in the video "Just So You Know," shot recently in California by director Kevin Kerslake (Nirvana, Stone Temple Pilots).

"We're very excited to have our old friend Brian on board to keep the insanity alive, and we feel that this is the beginning of a beautiful and disgusting relationship," the band says.

American Head Charge kicks off a month-long U.S. tour April 10 in its Minneapolis hometown; Gravity Kills and Kittie will be on the bill for various dates. As previously reported, the group will be on hand for the May 25 and June 1 stops on the Ozzfest U.K. tour. A summer U.S. tour is in the planning stages.

The group is touring in support of its American debut, "The War of Art," which debuted at No. 1 on Billboard's Heatseekers chart last year.
