Like most holiday episodes, last night's (Dec. 7) "Glee" was heavy on the warm and fuzzies -- so much so that Grinch-like Sue Sylvester cracked. Although the episode was jam-packed with holiday tracks, those looking for the classic carols of Glee's recently-released Christmas album were out of luck.

Instead, the New Directions gave (mostly) unmemorable renditions of oddball musical choices like the Carpenters' "Merry Christmas, Darling" and "The Most Wonderful Day of the Year" (from the "Rudolph" animated TV film).

The episode starts off with the glee club throwing themselves a holiday-themed pity party, decorating a tree while singing "The Most Wonderful Day of the Year." "We won sectionals two years in a row, and according to everyone at this school, we're still losers," Mercedes tells Mr. Schuester.

After an unsuccessful Shue-sanctioned caroling attempt ends with a teacher throwing a shoe at the New Directions, the glee club discovers that Britney still believes in Santa Clause. They go to great lengths to keep her childlike faith intact, which is sweet but sort of weak as a plot point.

Meanwhile, Rachel fights to regain Finn's affection, after she revealed in last week's episode that she cheated on him with Puck. Rachel gives a depressing (but solid) rendition of the Carpenters' "Merry Christmas, Darling" after Finn rejects her first apology.

It breaks our hearts to see Kurt so removed from the show's plotline since starting at Dalton Academy, and as much as we like his budding love with Blaine, we want him back at McKinley High. The highlight of last night's episode was Kurt dueting with Blaine on "Baby, It's Cold Outside." We're still waiting for a kiss between them.

Rachel uses her vocal talents yet again to try to win Finn back, but he officially breaks up with her after she sings Wham's "Last Christmas." She says that it's her favorite Christmas song, but we highly doubt diva Rachel would pick Wham over, say, Mariah.

The plot to keep Britney's belief in Santa Clause intact continues, but unfortunately, her only wish is for Artie to walk again. Those "Glee" kids make it happen (err, sorta), while Mr. Schuester finds a way for the club to both sing AND raise money for charity. The club goes with "Welcome Christmas" from "How the Grinch Stole Christmas."

Isn't it precious how everything wraps up so easily? In the end, even Sue -- who pulled a total Grinch move (literally) by stealing a bunch of presents -- plays nice at Christmas.
