Garth Brooks will host and perform in his first Christmas special. To air Dec. 1 at 9 ET on NBC-TV, "Garth Brooks & The Magic Of Christmas" will feature guests Tony Bennett, Natalie Cole, and Trisha Yearwood. The hourlong show will be taped at Manhattan locations that include the Rainbow Room atop Rockefeller Plaza and the Wollman ice-skating rink in Central Park. Brooks and his guests will perform holiday standards backed by a 32-piece band.
The special, Brooks' eighth for NBC, will promote his album of the same title, due Nov. 23 from Capitol. The special is being produced by dick clark Productions.
