Rising acts Fun., A$AP Rocky, Walk the Moon and Wallpaper. will perform at MTVu's inaugural Woodie Awards Festival on March 15.
The afternoon event, held during Austin, Texas' annual SXSW Music Festival, will precede the awards ceremony later that evening. All four are nominated for the college network's Breaking Woodie award, joined in the exhaustive category by Lana Del Rey, the Weeknd, Azealia Banks, Charli XCX, Childish Gambino, Cloud Nothings, Cults, Electric Guest, Fake Problems, Iggy Azalea, Future, Kendrick Lamar, Machine Gun Kelly, Meek Mill, Porter Robinson, Sleeper Agent, T. Mills and tUnE-yArDs.
Fun., however, may have already broken: the band's Janelle Monae collaboration "We Are Young" stands at No. 3 in this week's Hot 100 thanks to the song's use in Chevrolet's Sonic Super Bowl ad.
New York rapper A$AP Rocky has also made significant waves in recent months, drawing kudos for his "Live.Love.A$AP" mixtape and signing to Sony/RCA's Polo Grounds Music for a reported $3 million last fall.
The Woodie Awards Festival's open-air performances will stream online, kicking off at 1 p.m. CT.
MTV and MTVu will launch Woodie Awards Week on March 11, featuring SXSW coverage and interviews from the new music festival in preparation for the Thursday night awards show.
