Four Tet's Kieran Hebden takes the helm of !K7's long-running "DJ Kicks" series, which will be released in mid-July. The 20-track set features a new Four Tet original, "Pockets," which smudges an '80s synth melody with clattering percussion and phasing sound effects. The cut will also be available as a single backed with a more club-oriented mix.

Among the other tracks to be found on the compilation are a remix of Madvillain's "Figaro," Autechre's "Flutter," Curtis Mayfield's "If I Were Only a Child Again," Cabaret Volatire's "Kneel to the Boss," Animal Collective's "Baby Day," Gong's "Love Is How Y Make It" and the stellar soul-tinged hip-hop of Group Home's "Up Against the Wall."

Hebden is in the mist of a tour with drummer Steve Reid in support of their recent Domino album, "The Exchange Session Vol. 1." The trek plays Amsterdam tomorrow (April 14) and will run through May 13 in Paris. Also on tap is an April 26 show in London that will feature Six Organs Of Admittance, the Thing and a DJ set from Caribou principal Dan Snaith.

The second volume of Hebden and Reid's collaboration is due in late May.
