Foo Fighters

The Foo Fighters rocked out for a good cause when they recently played fundraisers for victims of the Australian floods and New Zealand earthquakes.

Now, the concert promoters have announced those two March shows raised upwards of $1 million

Michael Gudinski's Frontier Touring Company organized and promote the shows, which took place March 22 at Auckland Town Hall and March 27 at the Riverstage in central Brisbane.

The first of those concerts raised NZ$ 354,903 ($284,000) for the New Zealand Government Christchurch Earthquake Appeal while the Australian gig raised A$770,717 ($837,00) for the Queensland Premier's Disaster Relief Appeal.

The Frontier Touring Website has posted a comprehensive audit report for each gig.

"The Foo Fighters were determined to help New Zealand and Australia in the aftermath of these terrible disasters," comments Gudinski in a statement issued today.
