Leading Latin independent label Fonovisa is producing a July 1 mega-concert at Texas Stadium in Dallas, Billboard Bulletin reports. On the bill are top regional Mexican acts Los Tigres Del Norte, Banda El Recodo, Lupe Esparza, Grupo Mojado, Los Angeles De Charlie, and Priscila Y Sus Balas De Plata.
The show, "America Sin Fronteras" (America Without Borders), will be carried live as a pay-per-view special via satellite service SKY TV, a division of Fonovisa parent Televisa. It will also feature football players from the Dallas Cowboys, a popular team in Mexico. "It's a very important social and political event," says Fonovisa GM Gilberto Moreno.
Los Tigres, meanwhile, are the featured artists in an informational and educational campaign sponsored by the Mexican government and aimed at Mexican migrant workers.
