Foghat -- Peverett, bassist Tony Stevens, and drummer Roger Earl -- formed in London in
1971 and signed to the Bearsville label, owned by Bob Dylan manager Albert Grossman. The 1972 album "Foghat" spawned the group's first hit, a cover of Willie Dixon's "I
Just Want To Make Love To You."
Foghat moved to New York in 1973 and over the next few years released such classic tracks as "Fool For The City" and "Slow Ride," a No. 20 hit on the Billboard Hot 100. The 1977 album "Foghat Live," which peaked at No. 11 on The Billboard 200, went double-platinum.
The group remained active in recent years, touring behind the 1998 album "Road Cases" on Plum/Simitar.
