Fleet Foxes to Drop 'Helplessness Blues' Album in May

Seattle folk rockers Fleet Foxes have announced the release of their sophomore album, "Helplessness Blues." The album, the quintet's follow-up to their 2008 self-titled debut, will be released May 3 on Sub Pop/Bella Union Records.

 

"Helplessness Blues" was both mixed and co-produced by Phil Ek (Band of Horses, Built to Spill), with the band sharing the producing credit. Recording took place at Avast Recording, Bear Creek Studios, Dreamland Studios and Reciprocal Recording over the course of a year.

 

Three days before the album's release, Fleet Foxes will kick off a North American tour in Vancouver. The bandhas also mapped out a brief European trek that begins May 25 in Berlin, Germany. The first round of general tickets go on sale on Feb. 4.
