Fire Critically Injures Two At Austin City Limits

Two people were critically injured and two others hurt after a fire broke out this afternoon (Sept. 14) at the Austin City Limits Festival at Austin's Zilker Park. Thick, black smoke could be seen for miles resulting from a blaze that is being blamed on a propane tank attached to a trailer behind vendor tents between two stages.

It took some time before the fire department arrived on the scene, but the fire was contained within about 40 minutes of breaking out. It is understood that the two more severely injured people were transported to the Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio.

Pete Yorn was playing on the nearby AT&T stage when the fire broke out; his set was briefly suspended, but fire officials allowed him to resume. The smoke has since cleared from the general area.
