Fantomas Get Cinematic On New Album

Comments

Experimental noise outfit Fantomas, featuring Mr. Bungle and ex-Faith No More leader Mike Patton, as well as bassist Trevor Dunn (Mr. Bungle), guitarist Buzz Osborne (Melvins), and drummer Dave Lombardo (ex-Slayer), will release a follow-up to their self-titled debut on July 24. The album, titled "The Director's Cut," will be released via Patton's own Ipecac Recordings imprint, and feature reworkings of 15 film scores, including "The Godfather," "Cape Fear," "Rosemary's Baby," and "The Omen."

The band will tour Europe throughout May and June, and is hoping to release another album by the end of the year. An MP3 of Fantomas' chaotic and oddball interpretation of of "Rosemary's Baby" will be posted on Ipecac's official Web site in the near future.

Here is the tracklist for "The Director's Cut:"
"The Godfather"
"The Golem"
"Experiment in Terror"
"One Step Beyond"
"Night of the Hunter"
"Cape Fear"
"Rosemary's Baby"
"The Devil Rides Out"
"Spider Baby"
"The Omen"
"Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer"
"Vendetta"
(Untitled)
