Familiar Names Top Golden Globe Music Noms

Tracks by Madonna, Phil Collins, and Kenneth (Babyface) Edmonds have been nominated for a Golden Globe for best original song in a movie, while John Williams, Ennio Morricone, and Michael Nyman all have received nods for best original score.

Announced today in Beverly Hills, Calif., the nominees for best song are Madonna and William Ørbit's "Beautiful Stranger, from "Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me"; Collins' "You'll Be In My Heart," from "Tarzan"; Randy Newman's "When She Loved Me," from "Toy Story 2"; Aimee Mann's "Save Me," from "Magnolia"; and Edmonds, George Fenton, and Robert Kraft's "How Can I Not Love You," from "Anna And The King."

Original score nominees are Williams, for "Angela's Ashes"; Morricone, for "The Legend Of 1900"; Nyman, for "The End Of The Affair"; Lisa Gerrard and Pieter Bourke, for "The Insider"; Angelo Badalamenti, for "The Straight Story"; Fenton, for "Anna And The King"; Thomas Newman, for "American Beauty"; Jocelyn Pook, for "Eyes Wide Shut"; and Gabriel Yared, for "The Talented Mr. Ripley."

The film-industry honors will be awarded Jan. 23. The ceremony will be televised on NBC.
