Estefan, Rubio Perform At Billboard Latin Awards

Gloria Estefan and Paulina Rubio are among the first group of performers confirmed to appear during the 2004 Billboard Latin Music Awards. Also set for the April 29 event at the Miami Arena are Alejandro Fernandez, Pilar Montenegro, La Ley, and Banda El Recodo. Additional performers will be announced in the coming weeks.

The ceremony will be broadcast live on Telemundo at 7 p.m. ET and will be hosted by soap opera star Mauricio Islas and Spanish television personality Candela Ferro. Tickets to the event are now available through Ticketmaster and the Miami Arena Box Office.

As previously reported, Celia Cruz tops the finalists for the Billboard Latin Music Awards, to be presented April 29 at the Miami Arena in Miami. The late "Queen of Salsa" is up for seven honors, including top Latin albums artist, top tropical album and top female. Juanes and Ricky Martin are each finalists in five categories.
