Erick Sermon Arrives In 'Chilltown'

EPMD alum Erick Sermon will on June 29 release his fifth solo album, "Chilltown, New York." It's the first fruit of a new deal the artist signed late last year with Def Squad/Universal. First single "Feel It" featuring Sean Paul reached No. 21 earlier this month on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles Sales chart.

The 17-track "Chilltown" sports collaborations with Sermon's Def Squad colleagues Redman ("Street Hop" and "Future Thug") and Keith Murray ("Listen," which also featured newcomer Sy Scott). Other guests include Talib Kweli and Whip Montez on "Chillin." The video for "Feel It" can be viewed on Sermon's official Web site.

The artist's last two solo sets, 2002's "React" and 2001's "[Music]," were issued through J Records. 1995's "Double or Nothing" and 1993's "No Pressure" were released by Def Jam. "React" debuted at No. 13 on Billboard's Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart and No. 72 on The Billboard 200.
