Eminem, Kweli Bolster Hush's 'Bulletproof'

Comments

Eminem, D12, Nate Dogg, Talib Kweli and Motorhead's Phil Campbell make guest appearances on "Bulletproof," the major-label debut from Detroit rapper Hush. Due Aug. 23 via Geffen, the set boasts two tracks produced by Eminem, whom Hush befriended while they both circuited Detroit's underground rap scene in the mid 1990s.

The video for first single "Hush Is Coming," which features Eminem, Nate Dogg, Obie Trice and D12's Swift, can be sampled on the rapper's official Web site.

Hush's music has already provided the score for NBC's boxing reality series "The Contender," which featured the songs "All I've Got," "Fired Up" and "Put 'Em Down," as well as live performances by the MC during the season finale.

The 32-year-old Lebanese/Italian artist has been working his way up through the music ranks since 1993, when he was released from a one-year federal prison sentence for robbery. Supporting himself over the years by moving furniture and working in shipping, the father of two caught the attention of record executives in late 2003 during a showcase where, in the midst of an emotional set, he burst into tears. He was signed to Geffen shortly thereafter.
