The hottest summer concert tickets for hip-hop fans will come late in the season, when Eminem and Jay-Z join forces for two blockbuster concerts at their hometown stadiums. The rap stars will co-headline Detroit's Comerica Park on Sept. 2 and New York's Yankee Stadium on Sept. 13.

Eminem and Jay-Z announced the news together at today's (May 12) Yankees vs. Tigers baseball game at Comerica Park. "This is a once in a lifetime set of shows, and I know we're both really going to bring it to our hometowns," said Eminem, whose new single "Not Afraid" is set to debut at No. 1 on the Hot 100 tomorrow. "The fans are going to love this -- and so am I. It's gonna be historic."

Though Jay-Z has been touring regularly in support of his latest album, "The Blueprint 3" -- including a much talked-about Coachella stop in April -- the last time Eminem headlined a show was at the New Orleans Voodoo Music Experience in October 2009. The Yankee Stadium and Comerica Park gigs will offer fans a rare chance to see him perform a full set, one that will surely feature new material from "Recovery," his follow-up to 2009's "Relapse" due June 22.

"I've always hoped that hip-hop could play any stadium like other genres of music," said Jay-Z. "How perfect is it that Eminem and I get to play our hometowns and show how far the live rap experience has come?"

On-sale dates for tickets to the Live Nation-produced stadium shows have yet to be announced.
