Earthdance Sets 'Beats For Peace' Tour

Comments

BT, Particle and Dan "The Automator" Nakamura will co-headline the 20-date United Beats of Peace tour, sponsored by the non-profit Earthdance Foundation. The trek will kick off Aug. 20 in San Francisco and close Sept. 17 in Los Angeles, the day before the eighth annual global Earthdance event.

The full routing has not yet been revealed, although stops in Seattle, Denver, Chicago, Detroit, Philadelphia, New York, Washington, D.C., and New Orleans are planned. The tour will also feature Chris Berry & Panjea and DJ Peas.

In addition to music, the tour will feature speakers, voter registration and the participation of local non-profit organizations in each community. An online road diary will be updated on the organization's Web site.

The Sept. 18 Earthdance summit will link events in 120 cities worldwide. The 24-hour celebration will climax with a synchronized airing of the foundation's theme, "Prayer for Peace," at midnight GMT. An MP3 of the track is available for download from Earthdance site.

Following the "Peace" dance, the event will boast "Drums of Peace," a simultaneous drumming circle that will take place in at least 10 locations worldwide.
