Eagles Expand 'Farewell I' Itinerary

The Eagles have expanded the itinerary for their Farewell I tour, which will kick off May 9 in Richmond, Va. Dates are set through July 16 in Boston, although many more are expected to be added. The tour will feature the core band as a four-piece consisting of singer/drummer Don Henley, singer/guitarist Glenn Frey, guitarist Joe Walsh, and bassist Timothy B. Schmit. A new album is due out in the fall on a band-owned independent label.

Fans who opt to pay the $60 annual membership fee for the group's Yahoo!-affiliated official fan club (eagles.yahoo.com), have first crack at tickets to the initial dates. Tickets for seven of the shows go on sale March 10 to the general public; prices range from $40 to $47 for the cheapest seats, and around $177 for the most expensive. More shows will go on sale the following week.

Fans who may have thought the tour's name meant the end of the Eagles can rest easy. The veteran act named the trek Farewell I "with a wink and a grin looking at the industry of farewell tours," according to a spokesperson for the band.
