Dungeon Family Emerges From 'Darkness'

Southern rap supergroup Dungeon Family will release its debut album, "Even in Darkness," on Nov. 20 via Arista. The Dungeon Family is a heretofore loose collective of rappers based out of Atlanta, including Outkast, Goodie Mob, the Organized Noize production duo, Cool Breeze, BackBone, and more.

While members of the group have often shared mic time on each others' recordings in the past, "Even in Darkness" will be the first official Dungeon Family release. First single "Trans DF Express" was released to retail Oct. 9 and is No. 17 on Billboard's Bubbling Under R&B/Hip-Hop Singles chart this week. Other tracks on the album include "Crooked Booty," "Six Minutes," "Emergency," and "Excalibur."

Outkast's 2000 album, "Stankonia," featured guest appearances by Goodie Mob and other Dungeon Family members, who later joined the group on its extended tour in support of that album. "Stankonia" has been certified quadruple platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for shipments of 4 million copies.
