Download Festival Expands To Boston, Dublin

Comments

311, Jurassic 5, the Wailers are the first artists set for the second U.S. edition of U.K.'s Download Festival. The event will encompass two concerts: Aug. 20 with the aforementioned bands at the Tweeter Center outside Boston and Sept. 30 at Shoreline Amphitheatre near San Francisco, with a lineup to be announced.

Download inaugurated its American edition last fall at Shoreline Amphitheatre with a bill featuring the Killers, Modest Mouse, the Arcade Fire, Doves and H.I.M., among others.

Tickets for Boston will be available Saturday (June 10) and go on sale July 16 for the San Francisco show.

The original Download Festival begins Friday at Donington Park in England, and features appearances by Tool, Guns N' Roses, Deftones, Metallica, Korn and Alice In Chains, among many others. Several of those acts will also perform at the first Download stop in Dublin on Friday and Sunday.
